I’m Nathan Crossett.

Stoic Primal started with a simple observation: the men I admired most — in history and in life — trained both halves. Hard body, ordered mind. Modern life splits them apart: gyms without philosophy, philosophy without sweat.

This site is my working notebook on putting them back together. I write about Stoic practice as the Romans meant it — a daily discipline, not an aesthetic — and about ancestral health as the evidence supports it, not as a fad.

I’m not a guru. I’m a practitioner sharing what works, what doesn’t, and what the old books actually say.

What I believe

  • Discomfort, chosen deliberately, is the best teacher.
  • You can’t think your way to discipline. You train it.
  • Most health advice fails because it’s complicated. The fundamentals aren’t.
  • Philosophy that doesn’t change how you live isn’t philosophy. It’s decoration.
