What this site is

Stoic Primal exists at the intersection of two old ideas. The Stoics taught that a good life comes from controlling what you can — your judgments, choices, and actions — and accepting what you can’t. Ancestral health teaches that the body thrives on the inputs it evolved for: movement, real food, sunlight, cold, heat, and rest. Neither is complicated. Both are hard. That’s the point.

What you’ll find here

  • Articles — essays on Stoic practice and primal living
  • Protocols — step-by-step practices you can start this week: morning routine, fasting, cold exposure, training
  • Reviews — honest takes on books, gear, and tools I actually use
  • Resources — the reading list and starting points I recommend

Where to begin

  1. Read one Stoic text. Start with Meditations by Marcus Aurelius (the Gregory Hays translation).
  2. Pick one physical practice — a daily walk, three lifting sessions a week, or a 12-hour overnight fast — and hold it for 30 days.
  3. Each morning, ask one question: “What is in my control today?”

That’s it. No 47-step system. One book, one practice, one question.
